Pacquiao to fight Marquez for the fifth

The camp of Manny Pacquiao was quite ecstatic to arrange the possible fifth clash against Juan Manuel Marquez in the Philippines. Pacquiao himself has aired his desires from the Government of the Philippines to fund that event if the same will materialize.

On the other hand, there were reports that Marquez said that he will never fight Pacquiao anymore even if he is offered US100 million. Why is that so? Is he afraid that Pacquiao could give him a night more than what happened to Pacman on their 4th clash? Marquez is the only boxer in history who has declined to fight a legitimate challenger in his generation. History books will never mark Marquez as a true warrior if he will decline Pacquiao's offer of a rematch!

Juan Manuel Marquez is now afraid of Manny Pacquiao

Both fighters in the upcoming Marquez-Bradley arrived at Las Vegas last Wednesday, October 9, 2013, and were both crowded by media for interviews. Juan Manuel Marquez was approached by an ABS-CBN news correspondent and asked if he is willing to fight again Manny Pacquiao. Marquez said in reply that he will NEVER fight Pacquiao anymore no matter how many millions of dollars will be offered to him. Asked further why is that so and he replied again that he wanted to keep for the rest of his life that feeling of knocking down cold Pacquiao in a tremendous way. He added further that if it was not a knockout, just like their previous close fights, then he would fight Pacquiao again. Meanwhile, in the words of the great Mike Tyson after being interviewed as to the defeat of Pacquiao by Marquez, he said that both of them deserved to have another fight. According to Tyson that fight was so close because Marquez was even knockdown by Pacquiao on that fight and had suffered a broken nose before he knocked out Pacquiao. Now with such recent words of Marquez, there are no any other way to interpret it but to mean that he is now afraid to fight Pacquiao. First, he is not retiring yet which should have justified his refusal to fight Pacquiao. Second, his reason that he simply wanted to keep the feeling that he was the first to knocked out cold Pacquiao connotes that there is a GREAT chance that Pacquiao could redeem himself by beating Marquez in also a unique way. Third, all of his alibi indicate that he is very afraid of Pacquiao because if he believes in himself that he is the better between the two them, he will fight Pacquiao at any time. Finally, Marquez might have already realized that it was indeed only a "lucky punch" was the thing that hit Pacquiao. On the other hand, Timothy Bradley welcomed the possibility of fighting Pacquiao because according to him the boxing fans deserve to see a most convincing way of winning over the other.

Canelo says he has got strategy to beating Mayweather

As Floyd Mayweather Jr. loved to state, “44 have tried and 44 didn't work,” making reference to his unbeaten run as a professional boxer.

So will Mayweather’s forthcoming opponent, Saul Alvarez, end up as victim number 45 or will he finally end the brash American’s streak? Alvarez believes within the latter, saying he has got determined Mayweather in a way that his previous opponents never had.

In a report, Alvarez bared they have found the real key to defeating Mayweather, considered as the top pound-for-pound boxer in the world today. The Mexican, also undefeated in 43 fights, clashes with Mayweather as part of his toughest challenge to date on Sept. 14 on the MGM Grand in Sin city.

"I think Mayweather’s previous opponents get desperate. They want to rip his head off. They want to hit him everywhere and tear his head off but I don't think that's how you do it. There are different ways to win and [on] September 14th you'll see how," said Alvarez, popularly known as “Canelo”.

He designated Mayweather’s fight with Puerto Rican banger Miguel Cotto in May a year ago, in which the American appeared quite possibly the most vulnerable he had been through years. In that bout, Cotto left Mayweather having a bloody nose, though the latter would still back off having a unanimous decision victory.

"Cotto did great in two to three rounds but ultimately, he would lose his head and fall into Mayweather's gameplan and that's when Mayweather would hit him. When he stuck to his game plan he penetrated his guard and hit him good. He fought a real good fight but obviously he didn't fight the whole fight like in the rounds where he penetrated the guard. The rounds vary and that's what made him lose, but he fought a good fight and that's where you can learn and take things away from that fight," Alvarez explained.

The 23-year-old fighter then continued to bring up other fighter who had worked out well against Mayweather, including Oscar De La Hoya and Jose Luis Castillo.

"I think Cotto gave him a good fight, he fought him well. Oscar De La Hoya. For me Oscar De La Hoya won their fight. Jose Luis Castillo gave him a good fight. A lot of people say he won that fight but to me, honestly, he didn't win that fight but he did give him a good fight. I think those are the fights where his opponents have been able to penetrate his guard and he had difficult time," he said.

Mayweather has recently abandoned his “safety first” style and turn more engaging and flat-footed in an effort to be more entertaining, as evidenced by his fights with Cotto and most recently Robert Guerrero.

Alvarez hopes to pounce on the opportunity to succeed.

Donaire Fights Old foe Darchinyan

His career delayed by a painful defeat, Nonito Donaire returns to action against a classic rival whom he once bumped out cold to skyrocket to fame.

Recently reported that Donaire will face Vic Darchinyan on November 9 in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Donaire is originating off a defeat to Cuban Gullermo Rigondeaux, whose ring craftsmanship might be a puzzle that confounded Donaire during their bout last April.

The fight is going to be at featherweight. The venue is tentatively at American Bank Center.

Darchinyan have already been reluctant at any rematch past the 122-lb division but finally made a decision to the battle to find redemption.

Donaire obtained a fifth-round knockout against heavy favorite Darchinyan in 2007 for that world flyweight belt. The battle demonstrated to become the crossroads for boxers.

Donaire grew to become the prince in the Filipino boxing kingdom ruled by eight-division champion Manny Pacquiao as the Armenian-Australian Darchinyan (39-5-1, 28 KOs) continued a tailspin.

But Darchinyan, now 37, has placed up two impressive victories that has become relevant again. Donaire (31-2- with 20 KOs) hopes another conquer of Darchinyan that will put his career back to normal after a loss to Rigondeaux.

Bradley is so dismayed

After a surprising victory over Pacquiao, Bradley has not received such a proud recognition of his success from a lot of boxing fans.  He himself was surprised on his win that night! I believe Bradley should surrender his belt and let the division vacant and prepare for the next battle and impress everyone in the world that he is an undisputed boxer by making a boxing win over any opponent. How's that Bob Arum?

Politics in boxing

The recently concluded boxing match between Pacquiao and Bradley has created suspicions on the emergence of the newest "mafia" influenced sport. A lot of people clamored with the result of said boxing match and some have entertained the notion that mafia has come back. We could always recall everytime we speak of mafia the same was either done with anomalies or irregularities. Las Vegas, being the gambling capital, would probably now a home for mafia. They could probably joined and took advantage of bigger bets during match.

Bradley lately said that he was very disappointed as a lot of people have not recognized him as the legitimate winner when he fought Pacquiao. He took on his part the toughest bout of his life and he had prepared for it too. On the other hand, Pacquiao suggested that the crown would just be left vacant so that everyone would have a peace of mind and to avoid any quarrels anymore, both, among the media and boxing fans around the world. I think all of these would put to an end if there will be a rematch between them! How's that Floyd, Jr.?

Mayweather, Jr. must have greater share

The father, Floyd Mayweather, Sr., believes that his son should get a greater share on pay-per-view income if ever the fight will push through against Manny Pacquiao. Mayweather, Jr. is said to be the crowd favorite and draws a lot of followers when it comes to pay-per-view because he is undefeated unlike Paquiao.
